Embryology Is Prenatal Care

When sperm and egg combine during fertilization, an embryo is formed. In natural conception, the uterine lining harbors and nourishes a growing embryo as cells divide and multiply in the earliest stages, from zygote to blastocyst to embryo. In the Ovation Fertility™ Las Vegas laboratory, our embryology team is tasked with replicating this process, and even improving upon it.

Our IVF lab director, embryologists and researchers have discovered and refined techniques and protocols that lead to increased pregnancy success, giving women and couples seeking effective female fertility treatment good reason to hope for the family they so fervently desire.

Embryology and the Science of Family Building

The most commonly performed procedures in our laboratories are related to a cycle of in vitro fertilization, or IVF. Our embryology team will closely monitor each step after egg retrieval takes place and as fertilization occurs. Some of the leading-edge services that we offer afford us greater control over the process.

Assisted hatching to raise the probability that an embryo will attach to the uterine lining

Endometrial Receptivity Analysis using protein markers made by the uterine lining to identify the optimal window of opportunity for embryo transfer

Preimplantation genetic screening, PGS, to distinguish between chromosomally normal and chromosomally abnormal embryos. This has been shown to raise the likelihood of pregnancy and reduce the risk of miscarriage. It can also reveal the sex of an embryo for gender selection

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis, PGD, to distinguish embryos that do not carry inheritable diseases such as CF from those that do, allowing us to eradicate inheritable disease from your family tree

Cryopreservation of embryos for preservation and genetic testing purposes

Our Ovation Fertility Las Vegas lab features a clean-room environment, and is equipped with the latest technologies for identifying, micro-manipulating and storing embryos during male and female fertility treatment and fertility preservation cycles.

You can rest assured that our team has adopted or, in some cases, authored the quality control measures that earn us annual accreditation by the State of Nevada and industry and federal agencies, including the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
